Hi there, I’m Sean,

Product Designer and graduate from Emory University

My passion for understanding how human psychology influences the digital world drives my dedication to UI/UX design. I am eager to apply this insight to create interfaces and user experiences that are both highly functional and deeply resonant with users.

My Education & Background

Psychology Meets Design: A Passionate Fusion

My academic journey wasn't a straight line, but a fascinating exploration of human psychology. Courses on adolescent development and clinical psychopathology ignited a passion for understanding how people think and behave. This knowledge became the foundation for my UI/UX design expertise.

Emory University provided the springboard. Here, I learned the art of crafting interfaces that not only work flawlessly but resonate with users on a deeper level. This fusion of psychology and design allows me to create experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and truly user-centered.

Highlights:

  • Undergraduate research assistant role focusing on child development.

  • UX researcher at Curalens.ai startup, honing skills in user interviews, data analysis, and user experience design.

  • Supervised independent study exploring the connection between cognition and UI/UX design.

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Initiatives!

Outside of design, I'm a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion.

At Emory, I had the privilege of serving as an orientation leader and community group discussion facilitator, helping to foster a welcoming environment for all students.

I was also deeply involved in the EmoryxMe project, where I participated in photo shoots to celebrate the vibrant diversity of our campus.

This passion for inclusion extends to mental health awareness, which is why I co-founded the Asian Health Alliance at Emory.

Other Hobbies

When I'm not designing or working towards a more equitable world, you'll likely find me working on self-improvement at the gym (a legacy of my fencing days on the University fencing team!), or unwinding at the piano with some tunes (I can read sheet music and play by ear).

I’m a huge fan of stand-up comedy, shows, and I have spent my past summers volunteering oversees as a course instructor and as well as a speaker for my peers

I'm also an avid music explorer, constantly curating new playlists on Spotify – feel free to send me your recommendations anytime!
